Derek Ritschel is a Canadian stage actor, writer and director best known for his contributions to Canadian comedies through his posting as the Artistic Director of Lighthouse Festival Theatre and Showboat Festival Theatre.

Derek is known as a triple threat in the Canadian theatre world. With a career that spans over 25 years, Derek has honed his craft in writing, directing and acting.

With 15 years experience directing Derek has had numerous standing ovations for his work in dramas, comedies and musicals.

To date, he has written three professional produced plays. With his latest play Fair and Square nominated by the Playwrights Guild of Canada’s Tom Hendry Awards.
